What is Floating??

Breathtaking Tranquility

The truest form of REST (Reduced Environmental Stimulus Therapy) is a zero-gravity environment that allows the mind and body to completely relax and let go. Using 900 pounds of Epsom Salts, the buoyancy of the water makes floating on water feel like floating on a cloud. By eliminating the forces of gravity pulling on the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, you can effortlessly relieve pain, and improve sleep in this unique state.
This means that for anyone with stress induced or related diseases, such as hypertension, ulcers, heart disease, and many others, the flotation tank offers a mental solution to the physical symptom, and goes after the problem at its source. By combating the stress, which is at the root of these issues, flotation tanks help to heal the body and the mind. Even more abstract mental issues, such as depression, psychological issues, even PTSD, have been shown to be alleviated in the tank environment due to shifts in brain chemistry.

Maternity Floats

It is said that floating during your pregnancy allows you to escape the added weight of pregnancy by taking the strain off your body and spine.  It promotes better sleep, a lovely sense of well being, and can help with aches and pains normally associated with pregnancy.

The positive effects of the magnesium in your system lasts for days after, increasing energy and reduced fluid retention.

Tandem Floats

Take time to relax together and reconnect spiritually, mentally and emotionally.  Float side by side in one of our spacious Sensory Deprivation Float pods.  The pod is actually much larger on the inside than you think, allowing you to be able to sit up and move around easily.

Bond together in this mutually enjoyed experience and build memories to share.

The Day Of Your Float

New clients need to arrive 15 minutes before appointment time. (Those who arrive late will need to reschedule—this is to preserve the quietness and integrity of all our floats).

  • Hair color needs to be “set” before coming in to float (your shower water is running completely clear). Please reschedule if it is not.

  • Females experiencing their menstrual cycle the day of their float MUST reschedule their appointments—thank you!

  • Avoid shaving, tanning, waxing—or anything else that would increase the sensitivity of your skin.

  • Any large wounds or lesions, we ask that you not visit until they are healing and approved by a medical professional. We provide Vaseline and individually wrapped Q-tips at the front desk to apply to any small cuts and grazes to keep them from stinging!

  • We recommend wearing loose comfortable clothes to change in and out of.

  • You are required to shower upon entering and exiting your session.  You will be supplied with earplugs, neck flotation device, towels, shampoo, soap, and conditioner. (You may bring your own shower shoes)

  • We encourage clients to float nude for the best experience.  Each room is private and will have its own shower and changing area.  Of course, feel free to bring a swimsuit if you so wish.

  • Anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be able to float.

After showering you may enter your Float Pod, which contains just 10 inches of water. You may leave your Pod’s lid open, propped, or closed for your float. The lid is on hydraulic arms and opens easily when pushed.  Lie back gently; the buoyancy of the water will effortlessly support you. Once your session has started you will have access to your control buttons—including your light and music.

The float has ended once your Pod’s filtration system comes on and the water starts to move.  You are in full control of your light (which features a variety of options) during your session. We recommend turning it off for the deepest experience—but this will always be up to you. Refrain from touching your face while in the Float Pod to avoid getting salt into your eyes.  If you do happen to get salt in them, we provide a small spray bottle to rinse off your face.  Do not rub your eyes.  If at any time you feel uncomfortable or claustrophobic, exit the pod immediately. Make sure to drink plenty of water after your session!

Always make sure you follow whatever guidelines you get from your Tranquility technician regardless of whether you are floating, using the RLT beds or regular tanning sessions.
